The Great Pumpkin Farm at 11163 Main St, Clarence, NY 14031 is once again the location & our partner for this year’s BBQ festival. Please check out our MAP for directions.
Saturday’s competition is Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) sanctioned. Team entries are judged and scored according to KCBS guidelines and rules. Food categories include: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt/shoulder, beef brisket. The scores of these four categories determines the Grand Champion. Optional categories to be announced soon.
Sunday’s events include both the Outdoor Cooking Contest, Rib-Oink Off and Whole Hog. The Outdoor Cooking Contest allows it all, as long as it is done outdoors: grilling, smoking, frying, baking, steaming, braising, using whatever fuel source you want. Categories will be determined soon. The Rib-Oink Off is a stand alone contest. Teams may independently enter either or both contests. There is a discount when entering both Sunday events.

Thanks to the cooperation among the BBQ competitions’ organizers, a trophy and cash prize of $1500 will be awarded to the top ranked participating team as well as trophies through fifth place. Ranking in the Empire State Barbecue Championship will be based on a cumulative total of a teams four best scores from any of the 10 approved events in NY State.
